Timeline factors around the opening
A commercial opening usually sits inside a set of real-world constraints: the lease start date, fit-out completion, the day new staff formally onboard, and government business-licence approvals. The shortlist we return will avoid the most obviously unfavourable date-picking patterns, but if your target window is tight (lease starts on a fixed day, staff onboarding is already scheduled), tell us on Messenger — the master will find the best day inside your real window rather than propose an ideal-but-impractical date. If your opening lands near the post-Lunar-New-Year window (5th day of the first lunar month for wealth-god birthday, 8th day for the traditional resumption of business), lead time of 2-3 weeks is recommended given the seasonal demand spike.

What's the difference between business opening date and construction start-of-work date?
Business opening refers to the commercial launch moment — a new store's first day, a branch's grand opening, a post-Lunar-New-Year re-opening, or the day an online store goes live. Do I need the wealth god offering for a modern business?
It's a cultural-observance decision, not a strict rule. Some households and shops keep the offering as part of their opening tradition, especially for a first physical storefront or a larger commercial space; others skip it, particularly for online-only businesses or personal studios. If it isn't part of your usual observance, the base RM 98 package is complete on its own. If it is, the RM 188 wealth-god package or the RM 288 full package layers the matched auspicious hour and ceremonial notes on top.
What information do I provide? How do I measure the front-door orientation?
The intake covers the owner's Bazi (real name, gender, birth date and time, city of birth), any co-owners' zodiac animals, the target opening month, and the front-door orientation of the shop or office. To measure the front-door orientation, stand just inside the door facing outward and use the compass app on your phone — the direction you face is the front-door orientation (e.g. "facing south" means the door opens toward the south). For an online-only business without a physical door, describe where the owner primarily works from (a home study, a co-working desk, a specific room), and the master will use that as the reference position.
If I open a branch or pivot the business later, do I need a new opening date?
Usually not — the original opening date carries the energy of that business through the year, and minor pivots or additional locations under the same legal entity don't reset the reading. However, if you register a legally separate new entity (a fresh SDN BHD with its own business licence), that new entity is best treated as its own opening and benefits from its own auspicious date. If you're unsure whether a change counts, share the situation on Messenger and the master can advise.
Do employees' or partners' zodiacs matter, or only the owner's?
The reading centres on the owner and any core principal co-owners (such as a co-founder or CEO). General staff and everyday partners aren't part of the zodiac-avoidance list.
