Company Naming — Founder Bazi × Industry Fit × Brand Positioning
The Shun Qian team designs company and business names for founders in Malaysia and beyond. Each proposal is hand-picked by the master against the founder's Bazi (八字), industry attributes, and brand positioning — so the name balances traditional metaphysical fit with modern brand utility. Choose the Chinese-only, English-only, or bilingual pair, and receive 3-5 proposals with full meaning breakdowns.

What company naming actually covers
A company name lives longer than most other founder-choices — it goes on the SSM registration, the domain, the trademark filings, the invoices, the payroll records, and the customer's first impression for years. The Shun Qian team designs company name proposals against the founder's Bazi (八字, "Eight Characters of Birth"), the industry the company operates in, and the brand positioning the founder wants to project. Each proposal is hand-picked by the master. This service provides naming proposals and metaphysical analysis; it does not file business registration paperwork, which sits with SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia) or the equivalent registry in your jurisdiction, working through your appointed company secretary.
Company naming reads across three dimensions simultaneously. First is the founder's Bazi — the classical four-pillar reading identifies which Five Elements the founder's chart is strong or weak in, which sets the direction for character or word choice that supports the founder's own energy signature. Second is the industry — traditional practice reads different industries onto different elemental families (technology and communications lean Metal, food and hospitality lean Fire, banking and property lean Earth, and so on), and the name is checked for elemental fit with the industry it will operate in. Third is brand positioning — a name that reads well metaphysically but doesn't land as a brand (too archaic, hard to pronounce, hard to spell, already crowded in the sector) doesn't do the work a company name has to do. All three checks run in parallel.
Our three packages track the delivery axis: Chinese company name only, English company name only, or the bilingual pair. The bilingual option is designed for founders whose market genuinely sits across both languages — a name that reads coherently in Chinese and English is meaningfully more work than two independent picks (the phonetic bridge or complementary meaning has to hold), which is why the pricing steps up. Reports are delivered on Facebook Messenger in 3-5 working days. A note on scope: once you have the shortlist, name-availability checking at SSM sits with you or your appointed company secretary — we design and analyse names, we don't file the SSM Form 13A / Section 26 paperwork. If the top candidate is already taken, we can help you shortlist alternates from the same reading.
What you receive
Founder Bazi reading and industry-element mapping
Every company naming report opens with the founder's Bazi reading — the four pillars, the strong and weak elements, and the specific elements the founder's chart benefits from strengthening. Alongside, the industry is mapped to its traditional elemental family and any complementary or conflicting element notes are called out. This paired reading is the anchor for the whole name shortlist: it explains why each proposed name was picked, so you can evaluate the shortlist on your own terms rather than accepting a black-box output.
3-5 hand-picked company name proposals
The core deliverable is 3-5 hand-picked name proposals in the chosen language (Chinese, English, or bilingual pair). Each proposal comes with a full meaning breakdown — the character or word etymology, the Five Elements each character or root contributes, the auspiciousness reading (stroke count for Chinese; phonetic and cultural notes for English), and the brand-positioning fit. For the bilingual package, the Chinese and English names are drawn to work together as a coherent pair, either via phonetic bridge or complementary meaning.
Industry-fit and brand-positioning notes per proposal
Alongside the metaphysical breakdown, each proposal carries a plain-English note on industry fit and brand positioning: does this name sit naturally in your sector, is it easy to pronounce for your target customer base, is it going to look right on packaging or on a signboard, is it likely to feel dated in five years or hold its register. This is the layer that keeps a company naming reading grounded in the real-world use the name has to survive.
Malaysia SSM registration considerations
If you're registering the company in Malaysia, name availability at SSM is the next practical gate — SSM keeps a live register and rejects names that clash with existing entities or hit reserved-word lists. Our shortlist is designed with common SSM-rejection patterns in mind (obviously generic terms, protected words, exact-match clashes with well-known brands), but the final availability check runs through SSM itself. If your appointed company secretary flags a clash on the top pick, ask on Messenger — we can help you decide which alternate on the shortlist to run next, drawn from the same Bazi and industry reading.
Frequently asked questions
Is company naming different from product / brand naming? Can I get only the brand name?
They overlap but aren't identical. A company name is the legal entity — the one on the SSM certificate, invoices, and payroll — and traditional practice reads it against the founder's Bazi. A brand name is what customers see (product line, service name, storefront) and reads more toward market fit than founder-chart fit. This service focuses on company names. If you specifically need a brand or product name (independent from the legal entity name), tell us on Messenger and we'll advise on scope — the reading is similar but the emphasis shifts.
Whose Bazi do you need — just the founder, or all shareholders?
The founder's Bazi is the primary input — traditional practice reads the person whose vision the company embodies as the metaphysical anchor. In multi-founder companies, the majority shareholder or the person who will be the operating face of the business is usually the right anchor. If your setup is a genuinely equal partnership, we can read the two Bazis together for a compatibility layer; mention that on Messenger and we'll advise.
What if the proposed name is already taken at SSM? Does this service include name search?
The service does not include SSM name search — that's a live check run through SSM's system, typically by your appointed company secretary. Our shortlist is drawn with common rejection patterns in mind (generic terms, protected words, well-known brand clashes), but the final availability call is SSM's. If your top pick is taken, please tell us on Messenger and we'll help you decide which of the shortlist alternates to run next — the underlying reading is the same, so drawing from the same shortlist is faster than starting fresh.
Is the bilingual (中英文) option one name in two scripts, or two independent proposals?
One coherent pair — that's what makes the bilingual package meaningful. The Chinese and English proposals in the bilingual package are drawn to work together, either as a phonetic bridge (the English name evokes the Chinese sound) or as a complementary meaning (the two names support each other conceptually). If you'd rather have two entirely independent proposals — a Chinese company name that has no phonetic tie to an English brand you're already using — order the Chinese-only package and mention the existing English brand on Messenger, so the reading doesn't force an unnecessary bridge.
Can I use the suggested names to register a company in Malaysia / HK / TW / SG?
Yes — the naming reading is about metaphysical and brand fit, not jurisdiction. You can use the shortlist to register with SSM, Hong Kong Companies Registry, Taiwan (經濟部商業司), Singapore (ACRA), or elsewhere. The name-availability check at each registry runs locally through your appointed corporate services provider, so the practical filing process differs by jurisdiction, but the naming reading itself travels.
Turnaround time — and if SSM name search fails, can you provide alternate proposals?
The report is delivered on Facebook Messenger in 3-5 working days from intake completion. If SSM (or your local registry) rejects the top pick on availability, ask on Messenger — we can walk through the shortlist alternates with you first, and if none of the 3-5 hold up we can draw additional candidates from the same underlying reading as a follow-up. The Bazi × industry × brand analysis is the expensive part; drawing new candidates from the same analysis is much lighter work.
How the service works
- Order online and choose the package: Chinese-only (RM 288), English-only (RM 288), or bilingual (RM 388).
- Send the intake on Facebook Messenger — founder's Bazi (real name, birth date and time, city of birth), the company's industry, the intended market and target customer, and any brand-positioning preferences (register, tone, character-count for Chinese, phonetic feel for English).
- The master reads the founder's Bazi, maps the industry, and hand-picks 3-5 name proposals with full breakdowns across metaphysical fit, industry fit, and brand positioning.
- Within 3-5 working days you receive the full written report on Messenger; SSM name-availability checks run separately through your company secretary.
- Once you settle on a shortlisted name, ask on Messenger for a founding-day date-selection reference — the auspicious window for registering with SSM or the equivalent authority.
- If SSM (or your local registry) rejects the top pick on availability, one supplementary round of alternative proposals is included; the SSM name-search and filing process is handled by you or your appointed company secretary.

The Shun Qian team designs company and business names for founders across Malaysia and beyond.
